Exercises some independent judgment with making decisions.
Receives and/or collects various fees and deposits due to the Village for water billing, licenses, parking permits, local ordinance citations and other transactions.
Performs general office duties and serves as backup Receptionist for the Village.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Performs Finance Department front counter service activities and manages cash transactions e.
g.
:
collects water payments, business license fees, and other fines and fees due to the Village.
Processes payments received in the drop box, mail and over the internet, and processes commuter lot cash bags.
Tracks food and beverage receipts.
Balances and maintains daily account transactions and accounting records, and reports discrepancies found.
Provides information and assistance, by telephone and to walk-ins, on how to complete various applications.
Relays routine information to customers.
Hands out Village Pamphlets and memos for public distribution.
Directs customers to the proper authorities for cases requiring attention by other departments.
Processes all Real Estate Transfer Stamps for the Village, including making sure that all fees related to the property have been collected and that there are no outstanding code violations.
Tracks the number of transfer tax stamps sold, and their related home prices.
Enters foreclosure notices into the system, and tracks the Village's foreclosed properties and the Village's ticket citations.
Serves as the backup Receptionist; receives incoming calls for the Village and directs visitors to proper destinations.
Type's correspondence, records, reports and other numerical material from rough draft, outline, and verbal instruction.
Participates with developing departmental policies and procedures.
Works within the Dacra system (parking tickets violation and Ordinance violation (weeds)).
Processes and mails all the adjudication letters to appear for violators who haven't paid their fines/violations on a specified dates.
Attend the adjudication hearing process and post payments to the Dacra system.
Orders office supplies, business cards for all employees, special printed items such as envelopes, letterhead, parking permits, copy papers, finance copy machine toners, etc.
Calculates liens and interest for payment and preparation of liens release documents.
Plans and prioritizes own daily work schedule to ensure duties are performed according to established procedures and standards.
Adheres to all Village policies and procedures within the department and as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
Maintains regular attendance and punctuality.
Follows all safety regulations, policies and procedures.
Reports all unsafe conditions and acts to supervisor.
Reports all accidents to the supervisor immediately whenever possible, but no later than end of the employee's work shift.
Follows recognized safe work practices.
Performs other duties as requested or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None.

EDUCATION &/OR EXPERIENCE Completion of a High School diploma or General Education degree (GED) and one (1) year of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
One (1) year of customer service and Microsoft Word and Excel experience is preferred.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
