Manager, Environment, Health & Safety

General Purpose
Summary: Plans, directs, and implements "world class" safety culture and ensures compliance with all state, federal and local governmental EHS. regulations by performing the following duties: The scope of the role includes direct responsibility for the Cary, Hanover Park, and Aurora sites as well as assisting the Hartford, WI, location and championing safety efforts in the US Flexible's Business.
Essential Duties and Tasks
Knows and follows all safety policies and procedures. Ensures co-workers are also following safety rules.
Commitment, awareness and involvement pertaining to ISO (policy, standards, procedures, etc.) and food safety practices (GMPs, procedures, etc.) are requirements of all employees.
Plans and implements safety and environmental policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations. This includes written programs, recordkeeping, reports, inspections, monitoring, testing, and training. Employee also remains current in changing EHS regulations.
Directs, develops and delivers safety, health and environmental training programs to ensure employees' knowledge, understanding and adherence to safety and environmental regulations pertaining to all ProAmpac facilities.
Works closely with third party vendor to limit risk exposure at all facilities and ensure all recommendations are completed and documented.
Manages and completes monthly environmental recordkeeping and inspections as needed to assure compliance with applicable permits, regulations, and requirements.
Files annual local, state and federal environmental reports potentially including air, waste, water, Tier II, and Form R.
Manages hazardous waste disposal program.
Manages EHS programs, including cost control/reduction and accident prevention/ reduction, safety behavior audit and risk assessment programs
Manages workers compensation cases to ensure reasonable return to work and cost containment.
Conducts safety orientation of new hires, contractors and visitors which includes PIV certification if necessary.
Analyzes safety history to identify unsafe trends/behaviors and uses information to develop safety strategies.
Plans and implements programs to train managers and employees in work site safety practices, including but not limited to fire prevention, correct handling techniques for chemicals, toxins, equipment, and other materials, blood borne pathogens, hazardous communication, lockout/tagout and emergency action plans.
Leads site safety committee to inspect organization facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.
Provides information, signs, posters, barriers, and other materials to warn of potential and actual safety hazards and to prevent access to hazardous conditions.
Effectively communicate with employees from your own and other departments to ensure a team environment.
Conduct inspections and audits to ensure compliance to the ProAmpac EHS standards
Coordinate development of an EHS improvement strategic plan for the business and sites through collaboration with the site managers.
Must be able to split time between Cary, Hanover Park, and Aurora with monthly visits to Hartford, WI.
Some domestic travel required to assist in audits at other Flexibles locations (1x/quarter)
Must be able to lift 50lbs.
Coordinate visits from internal and external regulatory authorities.
Analyze manufacturing processes, evaluating production machinery and or chemical exposures to determine safety hazards and alternative solutions.
Demonstrates appropriate attitude in all dealings with coworkers, customers, and suppliers.
Read, understand and follow work instructions
Follow quality requirements to meet or exceed specifications
All other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
No direct supervisory responsibilities
Assists with EHS programs at each of the other Flexibles business sites by working with site leaders and designated EHS personnel at those sites.
Qualifications, Education and Experience
BS degree in Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety, or other science field.
Five or more years' experience leading EHS issues.
Experience in evaluating/interpreting OSHA, EPA and DOT regulations and NFPA, ANSI, ASTM, and ASME standards preferred.
Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), Certified Safety Professional (ASP/CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certifications are a plus.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
